A Conbined Team of Military and Police Flush -Out Fulani herdsmen


The Inspector General of Police (IGP), John Kudalor has visited Agogo in the Ashanti Region to ascertain the extent of damage following 12 years of Fulani invasion in the area.Residents of the area have vowed to take on the nomadic herdsmen after a farmer was gunned down by the Fulanis.The 25-year-old David Atiah was trying to prevent the cattle from eating crops on his mother’s farm.

At a meeting with the Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC), and other security agencies and opinion leaders to kick start the ejection process, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), John Kudalor said a roadmap which has been introduced to deal with the situation would be reviewed in the course of time.
He said other stringent measures will be adopted by the police to contain the situation.
The Fulani herdsmen have over the years clashed with Agogo residents for damaging their crops and farms. The fulani herdsmen have been accused of engaging in robbery, rape and often killing residents in the process.
