The 43-year-old actor attended the Independent Spirit Awards
on Saturday night after the news broke. He was one of the last people
to arrive and walked the red carpet alone without giving any interviews.
Elba went on to win in the Best Supporting Actor category at the awards for his role in Beasts of No Nation.
