President Mahama fires Judge Ajet-Nasam and Judge Obimpeh

Media File The president of Ghana has sacked two High Court judges following a judicial corruption scandal.

The two justices are among 12 High court justices implicated in the judicial corruption scandal that was uncovered by an Ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The two justices; Ajet Nasam and Ernest Obimpeh are part of 12 high court justices implicated in the judicial corruption scandal.

They are the first two justices of the Superior courts to be removed since the scandal broke.

In December last year 21 judges of the lower court were also sacked after a committee investigating them found them guilty of taking bribes to tilt the scale of justice.


12 superior court justices and 22 magistrates and judges were implicated in the biggest corruption scandal in the judiciary .


The judges were accused of taking bribes to set accused people free and rule in favour of those who paid bribes.



Ten justices of the High court remain under investigations. About three of them are in court protesting the impeachment procedure.

In a related development, the president has also directed the removal from office Justice Ringo Cass Akurugu Azumah on grounds of stated misbehaviour
