Barcelona star Neymar has admitted he
would “love to work with” Pep Guardiola and claimed Brazil and
the USA are two places where he would also like to play.
The 23-year-old
Brazil forward is currently negotiating a new five-year deal with Barca
but he has spoken of his desire to play for former Barca coach
Guardiola, whom he never shared a dressing room with.
The Bayern Munich coach has revealed he will join a Premier League club at the end
of the season, with Manchester City the favourites to secure his
signature.
Neymar, who is contracted to until 2018 at the Nou
Camp, has also spoken of his desire to play in MLS and return to his
homeland in Brazil, but he has not specified when or which order he
plans to fulfill his football dream.
When asked if there was one
manager he would like to work with, Neymar told Red Bull’swebsite: “Yes,
there is one: Guardiola is a guy who I really admire and who I would
love to work with.
“It is tough to say if I want to play in other
countries. Nobody knows tomorrow, but I am very happy where I am right
now at Barcelona.
“I have the will to go back to Brazil some day
and I also would like to play in the USA – those two countries are two
where I want to play later on in my career.
“The USA is a place
where the game is growing and attracting the interest of lots of
players, who are becoming more and more popular there. ”
Reports
in Spain earlier this week claimed Real Madrid were willing to trigger
Neymar’s buy-out clause, believed to be £144m, and were prepared to sell
Ronaldo to do so, but Florentino Perez denied that and Neymar’s father
admitted new deal talks with Barca were in progress.
“We’ve begun
contract renewal talks, but there are outstanding issues that concern
us, and which need to be resolved,” Neymar Sr said.
“We are not thinking of leaving Spain but we have a problem. We’ve never experienced such major tax issues.” |
