The Reds have already had one bid turned down for the Brazilian striker but Shakhtar Donetsk insist that they will not be selling their main man
Shakhtar Donetsk chief executive Sergei Palkin has told Liverpool to forget about signing Alex Teixeira this month - warning that if the Reds desperately want him, they better be prepared to buy his buyout clause of £53.3million.Teixeira wants to leave Shakhtar to join Liverpool, as he wants to prove himself in a stronger domestic league, as well as push for a place in Brazil's Copa Centenario squad this summer.
But the Ukrainians want their top goalscorer to remain until the end of the season, as they seek to reclaim their domestic title and also aim for Europa League glory.
Palkin confirmed that the Reds had a bid of €32million (£24.5million) plus a further €4million (£3million) in add-ons turned down earlier this month.
Yet that's well below Shakhtar's valuation and given that they don't want to sell this month, they want Liverpool, or any other interested party, to meet the player's full release clause of €70million (£53.3million).
