The Ghana midfielder has signed a six-month loan deal with the La Liga outfit after completing his
medical.
Malaga CF have completed the signing of Chelsea midfielder Christian Atsu on
loan until the end of the season in an undisclosed fee.
Atsu, 24,
was also on the radar of Levante and confirmed holding negotiations
with the club's manager but he has swerved them to join rivals Malaga
after landing in Spain on Monday.
Atsu joined Chelsea in the
summer of 2013 and has previously spent time at Everton and Dutch side
Vitesse Arnhem on loan but recently endured an injury-blighted loan
spell at Bournemouth, making only two League Cup appearances for the Cherries.
He returned to Chelsea last December.
Goal
understands that Malaga coach Javi Gracia promised Atsu a starting berth
in his team and that influenced his decision to join the club.
Atsu has been capped 42 times with Ghana since making his debut in 2012, scoring nine goals. |
